ALROSA sells $504.5 mln rough, polished diamonds in January

MOSCOW, Feb 12 (PRIME) -- Russia’s ALROSA sold U.S. $504.5 million rough and polished diamonds in January, the company said in a statement on Monday without providing a comparison.

Sales of rough diamonds stood at $499 million, while sales of polished diamonds reached $5.5 million, the company said.

“Earlier this year, we have seen good demand for the whole assortment of our diamond products. It was supported by positive trends in the major sales markets backed by good retail sales results in 2017, including the Christmas season, and growing polished diamond prices in January,” Deputy CEO Yury Okoyomov said as cited by the company.
